We created an as-built digital model of the industrial infrastructure at Cargill's hatchery. By combining high-precision 3D capture with a BIM workflow, we produced a parametric, geometrically accurate 3D database designed to streamline asset management, maintenance and future expansions.

The main technical challenge was building a high-fidelity BIM model in a complex industrial environment with hard-to-reach areas and poor lighting. The facility was packed with exposed structural elements and MEP systems.
Registering and processing the point clouds took careful interpretation to tell each discipline apart and accurately reproduce its routing and connections. With no conventional reference targets on site, we used cloud-to-cloud registration, relying on the structure's own features as anchor points to keep all 316 scans tightly aligned.

The main deliverable was an LOD 300 as-built BIM model. It isn't just a visual representation of the plant; it also works as a smart database that can connect to operations and simulation platforms. As a result, the client's team can run precise dimensional analyses, plan maintenance and renovations strategically and proactively, and keep the impact on day-to-day operations to a minimum. That makes the model a long-term investment that keeps paying off in facility management.
